Hidden funds: Court told

Posted October 16, 2008 12:34:00

A Melbourne court has heard that alleged drug trafficker Horty Mokbel may have access to hidden funds that could be used to help him skip bail.

During a bail application, the Melbourne Magistrates Court heard the accused's brother Tony Mokbel absconded while on trial in 2006.

45-year-old Horty Mokbel of Preston is facing several drug-related charges.

It's alleged he trafficked a large commercial quantity of methamphetamine in 2006 and 2007.

The court will rule on the application next week.
