Dairy WA to undergo voluntary liquidation

Posted November 26, 2008 15:07:00

Western Australia's biggest dairy farmer group is about to be dissolved.

At its annual general meeting in Boyanup yesterday, Dairy WA members voted to put the group into voluntary liquidation.

The group's chairman, Jim Freemantle, says the fate of the group was inevitable after deregulation of the industry.

"Unfortunately ... like all of these things, as time goes on and things change and the dairy industry changed, the shareholding changed dramatically, it just really ended up unworkable," he said.
