Queensland Greens State MP Ronan Lee has introduced two private member's bills to ban uranium mining and exploration.

He told Parliament the Government's current policy is inconsistent.

"It is totally unacceptable that the Government would on the one hand claim to be opposed to uranium mining in Queensland while at the same time allowing for extensive uranium exploration in this state," he said.

"This is a case of the Government wanting to have its yellowcake and eating it too."
