Police on alert after crime spree

Posted November 26, 2008 22:50:00

Police are investigating a series of brazen robberies in Tasmania's north-west this week.

They say offenders stole a silver car overnight on Tuesday in Burnie and later tried to remove an ATM from a shopfront at Tullah.

Police believe the same group then stole a yellow station wagon, drove to Yolla and stole cigarettes from a local business.

Two more vehicles were stolen from the area.

Police want to speak to anyone with information about the crimes.
