Bligh attacks Opposition's croc questioning

The Queensland Premier has accused the Opposition of "disgraceful" politics on the issue of crocodiles.

The Government has set up a $40,000 marketing campaign for Magnetic Island, off Townsville in the state's north, where business was lost when a crocodile kept visitors away.

In Parliament, the Opposition's Tim Nicholls asked Anna Bligh if money would also be available for the relatives of crocodile victims.

"What compensation are you offering to the families of the men killed by crocodiles moved into their path by your Government?" Mr Nicholls said.

Ms Bligh responded: "As the Member well knows, this matter is now the subject of a comprehensive investigation - given that it involves the loss of life, I think it is quite disgraceful to be raising it in this way."
