Education chief backs college performance record

Posted November 27, 2008 15:48:00

The head of the Loddon Mallee education and training department has defended the performance of the Bendigo Senior Secondary College.

Monash University Professor Peter Sullivan has called for a review of using the college as the city's major public VCE provider.

He has been reported as saying the success rates at the school are satisfactory, but not as good as smaller schools.

But the regional director of the department, Ron Lake, says the track record of the Bendigo Senior Secondary College has been above average to outstanding for many decades.
