Brisbane's transport system boosted for festive season

Posted November 27, 2008 23:10:00

Late-night bus services in Brisbane will be doubled from Friday to cope with expected increased demand over the festive season.

Nightlink buses will run every half an hour from 1:00am to 5:30am on Friday and Saturday until the December 20 and again on New Year's Eve.

FlatFare taxi ranks will open two hours earlier.

Transport Minister John Mickel says the Government wants to ensure people get home safely.

"By all means in the lead-up to Christmas go out and enjoy yourselves, behave yourselves but if you're under the influence passenger transport services will be there to take you home," he said.
