Kalgoorlie pedestrian dies in highway accident

Posted November 28, 2008 13:00:00

A Kalgoorlie man, believed to be in his 60s, has died when he was hit by a car on the Goldfields Highway.

Police believe he was standing in the middle of an unlit section of the road when the accident happened.

The man is one of three pedestrians killed in separate accidents in Western Australia in the past 24 hours.

Late yesterday, a six-year-old boy was killed when he rode his bicycle in front of a truck on Piesse Street in Geraldton.

A woman was hit by a car on the Tonkin Highway near Guildford Road about 10:30pm AWDT last night.

Police say she apparently got out of a car and was attempting to run across the highway when she was hit by another passing vehicle.

She died at the scene.

Police are investigating all three accidents.
