Lightning strikes as Adelaide stays top

Adelaide consolidated its position at the top of the WNBL ladder with a convincing 93-77 win over the Capitals on Friday evening in Adelaide.

A 28-16 first quarter set up the victory and Canberra was outscored in every quarter for the rest of the match.

Cayla Francis and Angela Marino dominated for the Lighting with 19 points apiece.

Abby Bishop played a lone hand for the visitors with 22 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile Dandenong comfortably beat Logan 67-51 in Logan in the night's other match in Logan.

The Rangers skipped out to a 10-point lead at quarter time and were not troubled for the rest of the match, with Nicole Hunt top scoring with 14 points.

Kristen Veal was the standout for the Thunder with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
