Police recapture teen on the run

Posted December 1, 2008 15:08:00

Gold Coast police have recaptured a teenage escapee who had been on the run since last Thursday.

Madison Jo Randell, who is facing charges over a fatal car accident, was found at his Ashmore home late this morning.

A 19-year-old man was also detained and is helping police with their inquiries into two weekend robberies.

Randell broke away from a police escort at the Gold Coast Hospital on Thursday night and police suspect he has been involved in two armed robberies over the weekend.

Superintendent Jim Keogh says police sighted a stolen car used in the robberies at Nerang late yesterday.
