Netherlands introduces magic mushrooms ban

A ban on the sale of the hallucinogenic fungi known as magic mushrooms is coming into force in the Netherlands, a country traditionally tolerant of drug-taking.

The Dutch Government says magic mushrooms can cause life-threatening behaviour.

Last year a French girl who had allegedly eaten them jumped to her death from a bridge in Amsterdam.
