Sydney drive-by shootings 'not related'

Posted December 2, 2008 07:15:00

Police are investigating two drive-by shootings in Sydney's west last night.

Two shots were fired into a home on Beatrice Street at Bass Hill about 1:00am, (AEDT).

A number of people were inside the house but no-one was hurt.

Inspector Mark Pluss says about half an hour later, shots were fired at Belmore.

"About 1:45am police from Campsie Local Area Command were called to a tattoo parlour on Burwood Road, Belmore, in relation to shots being fired," he said.

"When police arrived at the scene, they discovered 10 rounds had been shot into the premises."

Police say the two shootings do not appear to be connected and will be investigated separately.
