Medibank Private gets green light for AHM takeover

Posted December 2, 2008 08:44:00

A takeover of health insurer Australian Health Management (AHM) by Medibank Private has been approved in a postal ballot.

Just over 95 per cent of the 84,000 members who voted were in favour of the demutualisation of the not-for-profit insurer.

Nearly 60 per cent of all of its members took part in the vote.

The proposal for AHM to merge with Medibank Private still needs to go to a general meeting of its members in Sydney on December 8.
