Ripper questions Native Title switch

Posted December 2, 2008 14:13:00

The State Opposition has criticised Premier Colin Barnett's decision to take control of the Native Title portfolio.

The Premier replaces Troy Buswell as the Minister for Native Title, with Mr Buswell saying it clashed with his other portfolios.

The Opposition Leader, Eric Ripper, says he is not impressed with the switch in portfolio responsibilities.

"It's disappointing," he said.

"You'd think people would be competing to have responsibility for such an important portfolio, with historic work available to be implemented."
