Three arrested over East Gippsland forest protests

Posted December 2, 2008 15:06:00

Police have arrested three forest protesters at a blockade at Brown Mountain in East Gippsland.

The conservationists are trying to stop clear-fell logging in an old-growth forest coupe earmarked for a nature walk.

Another protester is occupying a tree platform in the coup.

Search and rescue police are expected to remove the tree-sitter today.
