Adelaide coach Aurelio Vidmar has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

The squad features the same group which made the final of the Asian Champions League (ACL), along with some notable inclusions.

Jonas Salley and Alemao have been included after being ineligible for the ACL finals, while striker Paul Agostino returns from a calf injury.

National Youth League pair Michael Marrone and Osama Malik have made the cut, while Lucas Andreucci fills the mandatory third goalkeeping position.

Midfielder Lucas Pantelis unfortunately sits the tournament out because of a knee injury.

Adelaide kicks off its campaign against Oceania champion Waitakere United on December 11 and must win in order to progress to the quarter-finals and a chance for revenge against ACL conqueror Gamba Osaka.

A dream semi-final encounter with European giant Manchester United awaits the victor.

Adelaide United squad:

Robert Cornthwaite, Alemao, Angelo Costanzo, Michael Valkanis, Cassio, Kristian Sarkies, Paul Agostino, Cristiano, Osama Mali, Travis Dodd, Scott Jamieson, Jonas Salley, Daniel Mullen, Fabian Barbiero, Sasa Ognenovski, Eugene Galekovic (gk), Jason Spagnuolo, Diego, Michael Marrone, Paul Reid, Robert Younis, Mark Birighitti (gk), Lucas Andreucci (gk).
