Dockers recruit chooses footy over basketball

Posted December 2, 2008 18:10:00

Fremantle recruit Zac Clarke says it was difficult for him to pick between football and basketball before nominating for the national draft.

The 203-centimetre Victorian ruckman was taken at pick 37 by the Dockers on Saturday.

Clarke says it was a hard decision to walk away from basketball in favour of the AFL.

"Midway through the year it was really tough to make a choice," he said.

"I made the Vic Metro squad and that kind of pushed me in the direction of football."
