Former Queensland MP Gordon Nuttall says he will fight on to clear his name after he was committed to stand trial on 35 corruption charges.

The charges relate to payments from Brisbane businessman Ken Talbot to Nuttall totalling $300,000.

Magistrate Leanne O'Shea committed the pair to stand trial after hearing evidence from the last prosecution witness, Talbot's former business development manager Bronwyn McLennan.

She told the court about arrangements she made for a loan to Nuttall which was originally for $1.2 million.

When asked if they had anything to say, both men told the court they were not guilty.

Outside the court, Nuttall said he would fight the charges.

"We did everything we thought and believed was in accordance with the law," he said.

Nuttall's lawyer Mark Stone said the law under which the men were charged reverses the onus of proof and they must now prove their innocence.

He also said the prosecution was unable to point to any benefit to Talbot in light of what both men describe was a loan.

"There is no evidence of that," he said.

Nuttall and Talbot are to be tried on a date to be fixed in the District Court in Brisbane.
