Share market falls back

Australian shares have fallen back after making gains of about 2 per cent this morning after a good night on Wall Street.

Qantas shares have jumped almost 7 per cent after the airline and British Airways confirmed they were in merger talks.

At 11:30am AEDT the All Ordinaries Index was four points lower at 3,469. The ASX 200 has dropped by two points to 3,526.

The Australian dollar is buying about 64.3 US cents.
