Redbacks admit one-day hopes over

South Australian coach Mark Sorell says the Redbacks are out of the domestic one-day competition after losing to Queensland at the Gabba.

South Australia lost its last seven wickets for 23 runs, reaching 205 off 46 overs.

The Bulls won by 59 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method after rain stopped the match when they were cruising at 3 for 163.

The result left the Redbacks anchored at the bottom of the one-day ladder.

Sorell says it is hard to find anything good to say about the Redbacks' performance.

"[It's] quite difficult to find a huge amount of positives out of this game," he said.

"I guess, probably the positives - we had a reasonable start in our batting, we had it set up to score well, but that certainly turned around when we weren't able to capitalise."

He admitted the Redbacks' one-day hopes are forlorn.

"At this stage the chance of playing finals are pretty much gone completely, no doubt," he said.

"So, all we can do now is you know get some pride back in our performances and we can certainly have an affect on the rest of the comp by the way we play, so that's got to be our aim from here."
