Warriors' Marsh focused on own performance

Western Warriors opening batsman Shaun Marsh says he is not worried about fellow Test hopeful Chris Rogers's strong start to the season.

Rogers is averaging 96.8 runs in his first Sheffield Shield season for Victoria since leaving Western Australia, while Marsh's average is only 30.

Marsh says he is focused on making bigger scores for his state.

"I can't control any of that, I've just got to play well for Western Australia and that's my main focus at the moment," he said.

"If I score runs that's fantastic. I can't control what Chris Rogers is doing, that's just part of cricket, and I've just got to worry about myself, worry about doing well for my WA team-mates."

Meanwhile Warriors wicket-keeper Luke Ronchi said his team still hopes to take part in the first Twenty20 Champions League.

The competition was scheduled for this week but was postponed after the Mumbai terrorist attacks.

There has been speculation the tournament will be put off for a year, and Victoria and Western Australia could be replaced by the top two teams in this season's domestic Twenty20 competition.

But Ronchi said the Warriors are still preparing to play in the Champions League.

"We're all hoping along those lines, what we've read on the paper and the internet and stuff like that, it seems like it still will go ahead," he said.

"Obviously everyone wants it to go ahead, we'll just have to wait and see how the planners go."
