Half-centuries from skipper Dan Marsh and wicketkeeper Tim Paine have propelled Tasmania to a narrow outright victory over New South Wales in Hobart.
Set 219 for victory, the Tigers reached the target with just three wickets in hand late on day three at Bellerive Oval.
Having resumed the day's play on 1 for 7, the Tigers finished on 7 for 221 with Paine hitting an unbeaten 59 including 10 boundaries.
Marsh made 58 and shared in an 82-run stand with Paine for the sixth wicket.
Opener Jonathan Wells also contributed 46.
Nathan Bracken finished with 3 for 41 for overall match figures of 8 for 69.
Blues opener Phillip Hughes singlehandedly carried his side, making scores of 93 and 108, but his efforts were to no avail.
Ball well and truly dominated bat with 17 wickets falling on day one and a further 14 yesterday.
A Sheffield Shield record-equalling 12 ducks were registered.
The result has left defending champions New South Wales anchored to the bottom of the ladder without an outright victory this campaign.
