Pair faces charged over Bundaberg hit-run

A man and a woman from Brisbane have been remanded in custody charged over an alleged hit-and-run incident in Bundaberg in Queensland's Wide Bay region.

A female cyclist received serious injuries when she was hit by a car yesterday morning.

Thirty-one-year-old Kevin Michael Newman faces eight charges, including stealing and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.

Leah Jade Demery, who turns 30 on Friday, has been charged with five offences including burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The pair cried and tried to comfort each other during their brief appearance in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court this morning.
