Draft FOI laws allow greater access to Cabinet decisions

Posted December 4, 2008 19:17:00

The vaults of Queensland's Cabinet are starting to creak open.

The State Government has released a draft of its revamped Freedom of Information (FOI) laws, designed to make secret Cabinet decisions accessible to the public sooner.

Premier Anna Bligh has told Parliament there is also a new website detailing recent ministerial deliberations.

"Also from today people will be able to lodge, pay for and access FOI applications online for the first time," she said.

"Both the Cabinet information and online FOI applications will be available at www.qld.gov.au/righttoinformation from midday today."
