The Greens are putting pressure on Federal Education Minister Julia Gillard to reveal, before Parliament ends today, which ABC Learning centres will stay open.

ABC Learning receivers McGrath Nichol have confirmed 39 centres will stay open in South Australia next year.

The future of another 22 centres in the state is still in doubt as the receivers review their viability.

Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young says Ms Gillard can not leave the last sitting day of Parliament without giving parents an indication of whether they will have access to child care next year.

"I would hope that the minister is not playing politics with the anxiety of parents, not knowing what the future holds for them in 2009," she said.

A spokeswoman for the receivers has promised an announcement on the centres by the end of the week but Senator Hanson-Young says any later than today is inappropriate.
