The receivers for ABC Learning are expected to make an announcement today about the future of more than 300 childcare centres.
The nation's biggest childcare provider collapsed with more than $1 billion of debt last month.
More than 600 centres were judged to be financially viable, giving them a reprieve from closure.
But the future of another 386, including 43 in Western Australia and 60 in Queensland, hangs in the balance as the receivers assess their viability.
Bernadette Giambazi from the Childcare Association of WA has moved to reassure parents that suitable care alternatives will be found if their local centre is closed.
"There should be the capacity in the industry to take up the ABC families that are being dislocated, but it depends on the area the services are in," she said.
