Forest activists who are being sued by Gunns say they will not be intimidated by the Tasmanian timber company.

Gunns is claiming damages against 13 activists who allegedly chained themselves to machinery at the Triabunna woodchip mill on the east coast last month.

The action shut down the mill for seven hours and the company says hundreds of families lost income just before Christmas.

Gunns is also seeking an injunction to prevent the group from entering any of its properties.
