Aphids invade canola crops

Posted July 26, 2010 12:29:00

Canola crops in parts of the upper Great Southern are suffering from an infestation of aphids.

The green peach aphid have been found in paddocks around Narrogin and Kojonup on moisture stressed plants.

The aphids, which have been found in numbers of up to 50 per seedling, are resilient to many of the chemicals used to combat them.

Farmers who find the green peach aphid can call the Department of Agriculture or the Pest Hotline for advice.
