The lack of water is having a substantial impact on many of the nation's traditional wine grape producing areas and it is feared as many as 1,000 growers may be forced to leave the industry. They might instead consider moving west, as predictions from a discussion paper published by Curtin University indicate the south-west is set to double production because of it's more favourable long-term climatic conditions.
