The Hephzibah Menuhin Story

Hephzibah Menuhin was the younger sister of the famous violinist and conductor Yehudi Menuhin, but her life has received much less attention than her famous
brother's.

Although Hephzibah was a brilliant pianist she chose not to devote her whole life to her musical gift.

She married an Australian sheep farmer before her twentieth birthday, later leaving her sons and returning to England in her thirties and becoming an activist and community worker.

Her extraordinary life is told in the first ever biography An Exacting Heart.

This interview was first broadcast February 6 2008.
