The Rollertale story chain is as easy as pie. All you have to do is write a link about the two characters Pocket Waffle and Tapioca Toe Maker from the planet Loaf, following the story starter. Then I'll put all of the links together and act out the Rollertale on Roller Coaster.

Here are a few things to remember before you write your link...
  1. Keep you story link under 200 words, otherwise it will be too long for me to perform on TV.
  2. Try not to introduce too many new characters, because I'll be the only person acting it out and I'm not that talented.
  3. Remember that you're not writing the entire Rollertale, just one of the adventures in it, so keep it short, punchy, quirky and FUNNY!
  4. You can write a link that will go at the start, middle or end of the Rollertale, it's completely up to you.
  5. Start your story link however you want, but try to give it a really dramatic, cliff hanger style ending before finishing with the words "to be or not to be continued... the answer is find out next week".

Character Profiles

Pocket Waffle: Pocket is an 'It' and proud of it. Pocket is a master at hiding his lack of intelligence with extreme confidence, erratic laughter, pretending to concentrate; ridiculous bursts of fantasy and frequently over pronouncing his own name.

Pocket's catch phrase is: "This is where I say my catch phrase".

Tapioca Toe Maker: Tapioca is a 'Thing' and couldn't care less about it. Tapioca is a master at hiding his supreme intelligence with a lack of confidence, blank stares, extended umms, bursts of lameness and frequently mispronouncing his own name.

Tapioca's catch phrase is: "Put my salad on a separate plate".

Narrator - Mr Tell It Like It Is: Or Mr TILIS for short. He is a cactus. I don't know much about him and don't want to.

Mr Tell-it-like-it-is' catch phrase is "Press the impossible button".

The Setting - The Planet Loaf

Loaf is one of the universes' few completely inside out planets. The oceans, mountains and sky are all on the inside and at the very centre of Loaf is a tiny ball of space that sunlight shines out of. The inhabitants of Loaf are known as Loafers. There are two types Loafers - Its and Things.

Story Starter...

The Untypical Little Adventures of Pocket Waffle and Tapioca Toe Maker

Once upon a long time ago all the Its and Things that lived in the inside out planet of Loaf knew the answer to question, "Why aren't we there?"

Knowing the answer gave all of the Its and Things a sense of fulfilment and wellbeing, so everything in Loaf was happy and lovely and happy and bright and amazingly sweet.

Then one day without warning they all woke up and realised that they had forgotten the answer to the question, and not long after that, they couldn't remember what is was they had forgotten to remember. So they all became unhappy, dull, lazy and amazingly sour... but strangely life carried on as though it had always been that way.

Until one day...

Pocket Waffle was in his backyard doing his daily chore of digging a hole with a spoon and staring into the bottom of it for a few hours then filling it in. Tapioca Toe Maker, Pocket Waffle's neighbour, was also busy doing his daily chore, which consisted of watching Pocket dig holes and wandering whether or not to tell Pocket that he owned a shovel that Pocket could borrow. But this day changed everything...

As Pocket thrust his spoon into the ground a loud clang went 'GLANG'. Pocket quickly brushed away the thin layer of dirt to reveal a shinny gold block with the word 'THE' written on it.

"Get out of my new hole!" yelled Pocket, picking it up and throwing the block as far as he could!

CLUNK! Went the block of gold as it hit Tapioca Toe Maker between the eyes. Words circled around Tapioca's head like little birds do in cartoons. The words were "Why Aren't we There?"

"Ummm... Pocket, have you ever wondered why we aren't there?" said Tapioca.

Pocket, coincendently, was already feeling a little unusual after banging his face on water brick that morning. After the bump Pocket was sure that he could see the words "Why aren't we there?" circling around his head... "Yes I have Tapioca. Do you think this block of gold with the word 'THE' on it, is part of the answer to that question?"

"Perhaps. Do you think we should look for more words and try to answer the question that we both saw?" said Tapioca.

"Tapioca I don't think we should... I know we should! It is our destiny to answer that question... this is where I say my catch phrase."

"Uuummm... I agree! Put my salad on a separate plate. But where shall we look for those other words, Pocket?"

"How about we start over there?" said Pocket as he pointed into the distance.

"Uuummm... ok... but we'll have to walk there."

"Well then... let's get going," commanded Pocket.

Now it's up to you - send Pocket and Tapioca on an adventure to uncover a new random word - the key to the eternal Loafers mystery, "Why We Aren't There?"
