Franz Ferdinand played a steaming set to a greasy pit of sweat-soaked fans at the Enmore theatre. The stew of body-poppers bounced their way to dehydration while Franz pumped out both new tunes and old favourites for the Sydney crowd. Lead singer Alex Kapranso entered the stage wearing a leather jacket, but let the crowd know just how ridiculous the clothing was for a scorching Sydney summer night by ditching it after the second song. The band played a superb set, culminating in an all-in solo on the drums during the extended encore. Appropriate for the near-explosive heat of the hundreds of bodies jerking and grinding, Franz topped it all off with This Fire.
